It's the end of Q2 which means a new business check-in! 💰🥳
In this video, I'll walk you through my Google spreadsheet where I track all my crochet business numbers, from how much content I've made so far this year, to how much revenue my business has generated and how much salary I've been able to pay myself. In this blog post, I'm going a bit deeper into the numbers and what I've done during Q2 inside my business.
Happy reading (and watching)!

Except for the content mentioned above, I also share behind-the-scenes from my business almost daily on my Instagram stories. I also post regularly in my Facebook group, Facebook page and on the Youtube community tab.
Between April and June (the third quartal) I released 2 patterns. The first pattern was Runar the raccon which was part of a collaborative crochet along on Instagram with 7 other amigurumi designers. I also hosted my own crochet along in April where we made Tom the tiger together.
Runar the raccoon is my bestselling pattern during this period with 8 sold copies. The total amount of sold patterns during Q2 is 62.
The graph above illustrates where most of my customers come from. The 3 biggest chunks are the USA, and Europe (including Sweden and Finland). I sell mainly patterns in English but occasionally I also translate some of them into Swedish.

Pinterest total w/m: 265,320

I take these numbers with a grain of salt because I know that these numbers don't determine if a business is successful or not, but I still like to track them just to see that they are going up and not down. Right now I'm a bit concerned about my email list that is not growing at all, but on the othor hand, I haven't actively marketed it either.
SALES APRIL-JUNE 2023
Crochet along tickets: 6
Yarn kits: 19
Crochet patterns: 62
Amigurumi Calendar 2023: 2
Courses / workshops: 0
Membership: 70
Sales have been VERY slow these past few months. But as a vice woman said once 'A slow season is just a runway before a busy stretch'.
In May I launched my new community Happy Amigurumi Club for founding members. We were 35 dedicated amigurumi enthusiasts who kickstarted the community and in June I got the pleasure to welcome 35 more members.
I had zero intentions of starting a community this year but after several people have been suggesting to me that I should start one, I just had to give it a go! And so far it's one of the best things that I've ever done in my business.
So far I've designed two exclusive patterns for the club, hosted several live streams and in July we crocheted together a new mystery amigurumi.
As you might be able to tell I've put a lot of time and effort into the Happy Amigurumi Club which means some of my other tasks have been put on the backburner. Like designing new patterns for the webshop and opening up the Amigurumi Design LAB.
The Amigurumi Design LAB will open again in August with a new class starting in September. Stay tuned!
REVENUE APRIL-JUNE 2023
The revenue is a mix of sales of crochet along tickets, yarn kits, yarn, crochet patterns, amigurumi calendars, Youtube adds and memberships.
Remember! This is not my salary. Some of it goes to paying taxes and other costs like websites, domains, editing programs, bookkeeping, transaction fees, and so on.
During June I got my first paycheck from Youtube. I've been monitized since March but it took me 3 months to reach the payout treshold.
SALARY APRIL-JUNE 2023
1500€ (3x500€)
My goal this Q2 is to pay myself 500€ per month. I still get about 700€ in business income support so with a salary of 500€ we (me and Lukas) cope financially.

I hope this will give you some courage or inspiration if you've been thinking about starting a creative business of your own. I'm cheering you on wherever you are! Thank you for reading! ❤
