MATERIAL
- Yarn: The flower headband is great for using up those scrap yarns!
(ex. BC Garn Alba 50g = 160 m)
- Crochet hook: a size that works with your yarn. (ex. 3 mm)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
ABBREVIATIONS [US-terms]
r = row, st = stitch, sl st = slip stitch, ch = chain stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, hdc = half double crochet, inc = increase, dec = decrease, bl = back loop, fl = front loop


HEADBAND - FREE CROCHET PATTERN
▪ The headband is crocheted back and forth in one colour. (ex. green)
r 1: 2 ch. ch, turn. (2)
r 2: 2 sc. ch, turn. (2)
r 3: [inc]x2. ch, turn. (4)
r 4: 4 sc. ch, turn. (4)
r 5: inc, 2 sc, inc. ch, turn. (6)
r 6: 6 sc. ch, turn. (6)
r 7: inc, 4 sc, inc. ch, turn. (8)
r 8: 8 sc. ch, turn. (8)
▪ Repeat r 8 until the headband is so long so you can tie it around your head. (mine is ca 80 cm long)
r 9: dec, 4 sc, dec. ch, turn. (6)
r 10: 6 sc. ch, turn. (6)
r 11: dec, 2 sc, dec. ch, turn. (4)
r 12: 4 sc. ch, turn. (4)
r 13: [dec]x2. ch, turn. (4)
r 14: 2 sc. (2)
▪ Cut off the yarn and fasten the ends.


ROSE - FREE CROCHET PATTERN
▪ The rose is crocheted with one colour. (ex. yellow)
▪ Always ignore the sl st at the end.
r 1: 2 ch, 8 sc in the second ch from the hook. sl st. (8) = magic circle
r 2 (fl): [skip 1 st, 5 dc, skip 1 st, sl st]x2
r 2 (bl): [inc]x8. sl st. (16)
r 3 (fl): [skip 1 st, 5 dc, skip 1 st, sl st]x4
r 3 (bl): [sc, inc]x8. sl st. (24)
r 4 (fl): [skip 1 st, 5 dc, skip 1 st, sl st]x6
r 4 (bl): [2 sc, inc]x8. sl st. (32)
r 5: [skip 1 st, 5 dc, skip 1 st, sl st]x8
▪ Cut off the yarn but save approx 20 cm so that you have something to attach it to the headband with.
▪ Fasten the other end.



PEONY - FREE CROCHET PATTERN
▪ The peony is crocheted with one colour and two strands of yarn held together. (ex. pink)
▪ Always ignore the sl st at the end.
r 1: 5 ch, close to a circle with a sl st. r 2: ch, 12 sc in the circle, sl st. (12) r 3: ch, [inc]x12, sl st. (24)
r 4 (fl): [skip 2 st, 7 dc in the next st, skip 2 st, sl st]x4
r 4 (bl): 21 sc. (24) The next row starts and ends here.
r 5 (fl): [skip 2 st, 7 dc in the next st, skip 2 st, sl st]x4 r 5 (bl): 21 sc. (24) The next row starts and ends here.
r 6: [skip 2 st, 7 dc in the next st, skip 2 st, sl st]x4
▪ Cut off the yarn but save approx 20 cm so that you have something to attach the flower to the headband with.
▪ Fasten the other end.


DAISY - FREE CROCHET PATTERN
▪ The daisy is crocheted with two different colours. (ex. yellow and white)
▪ Start to crochet with yellow.
r 1: 2 ch, 8 sc in the second ch from the hook. sl st. (8) = magic circle
▪ Change colour.
r 2: [6 ch, 5 sc down the chains, sl st]x8 ▪ Cut off the yarn but save approx 20 cm so that you have something to attach it to the headband with.
▪ Fasten the other end.
CHERRY BLOSSOM - FREE CROCHET PATTERN
▪ The cherry blossom is crocheted with two different colours. (ex. pink and light pink)
▪ Start to crochet with light pink.
r 2: [2 ch, (2 dc, 2 ch, sl st) in one st]x5 (12)
▪ Cut off the yarn but save approx 20 cm so that you have something to attach the flower to the headband with.
▪ Fasten the other end.


ASSEMBLING
▪ Pin the flowers onto the headband.
▪ Sew the flowers onto the headmand.
▪ Sew the flowers onto the headmand.

This is so pretty! I’m going to try making one for my niece and see if I can work in clips to attach to her hearing aids. She just turned 1 and LOVES her hearing aids, but needs to be watched closely to ensure she doesn’t take them off to try to eat them! (A very expensive chocking hazard)
