TAMPON AMIGURUMI | Free crochet pattern
It's international women's day! A day where we highlight inequality and women's rights around the globe! What a marvelous time to share this free crochet pattern for these cute amigurumi tampons with you!
All women have some kind of relation towards periods even if all women don't necessarily have them. So why not talk about them? Why are we still hiding our tampons when we go to the bathroom? Let's make a revolution and bring out those tampons. Weave them high in the air and dance our way to the bathroom. Are you with me?
Here's two free crochet patterns for you! One pattern for a small tampon and one for a bigger one. OBS! Do not use these tampons in your vagina. But wear them proudly on your bag or keys! ;)
INFORMATION
Yarn: Scrap yarn from your stash in 2 different colours or hues.
Crochet hook: a size that works with the yarn
Abbreviations: r = row, st = stitch, sl st = slip stitch, ch = chain stitch, sc = single crochet, inc = increase, dec = decrease, cc = change colour
SMALL TAMPON
▪ The small tampon is crocheted in spiral with yarn A (red) and B (white).
▪ Start to crochet with colour A.
r 1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the second ch from the hook. (6) = magic circle
r 2: [inc]x6. (12)
r 3: [sc, inc]x6. (18)
r 4-12: 18 sc. (18)
r 13: Follow the cc in the chart.
cc to colour B.
r 14-18: 18 sc. (18)
r 19: [sc, dec]x6. (12)
▪ Stuff the tampon.
r 20: [dec]x6. (6)
ribbon r 1: 40 ch, ch turn. (40)
ribbon r 2: 40 sc. (40)
▪ Cut off the yarn and fasten the ends.
BIG TAMPON
▪ The big tampon is crocheted in spiral with yarn A (red) and B (white).
▪ Start to crochet with colour A.

r 18-25: 30 sc. (30)
r 26: [3 sc, dec]x6. (24)
r 27: [2 sc, dec]x6. (12)
▪ Stuff the tampon.
r 20: [dec]x6. (6)
ribbon r 1: 40 ch, ch turn. (40)
ribbon r 2: 40 sc. (40)
▪ Cut off the yarn and fasten the ends.
EYES [x2]
▪ The eyes are crocheted in spiral with yarn B (white).
r 1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the second ch from the hook. (6) = magic circle
r 2: [inc]x6. (12)
▪ End the row with an invisible join.
▪ Cut off the yarn, but save approximately 20 cm so that you have something to attach the eyes to the body with. Fasten the other end.
▪ Embroider eyes onto the white circles with black yarn.
▪ Attach the eyes to the tampon.
