The first graph illustrates the growth of my email list from January to December 2020. I've been working a lot with growing my email list this year. One of my goals this year was to reach 5000 subscribers which I did! My two last CALs have been driving a lot of new traffic to my email list and also Bob the owl, a freebie I made in May.
Email lists are a huge jungle, believe me, I've been there. I was very lost before I found Flodesk which I've been using for almost a year now. The best things with Flodesk,
- It looks nice = It looks modern and fancy! - It's easy to use = A lot of free templates!
- It's affordable = Only 19$ a month with my link!
- It has growth potential!
Many other email list providers punishes you for having a big and healthy email list, but not, Flodesk. The prize is the same each month. It doesn't matter how many subscribers you'll get!

Garnknuten earned 4 500€ this year!
The second graph illustrates the business income from January to December 2020. Garnknuten earned 4 500€ this year. The income is a mix of:
- Freelance job
- Yarn sales
- Pattern sales
The pike in October and November is an effect of the Leopold and Luna pattern relases and the upcoming Advent CAL. There were a lot of customers buying yarn kits and patterns for the event.
This is not my salary. Some of it goes to paying taxes and other costs like website, domain, editing programs, transaction fees and so on. This year I've been investing everything back into Garnknuten but next year my income has grown so much so that I can pay myself a couple of hundred euros per month. This is a huge milestone for me!
71 000 website sessions!
The third graph illustrates how the sessions on the website have grown over the last year. There's always a pike when I host a crochet along or release a new pattern. How many sessions the website gets each month always depends on how much new content I make and how much I market it. This year my website had a total of 71 000 sessions and the pages regarding the CALs have been the most visited pages.
Almost 300 sold patterns!
The forth graph illustrates the thing I'm most excited to share with you! My patterns sales over the last year! I've been selling crochet patterns for about 3 years now and this is the first year I've started to see a clear growth in the sales for my patterns. I've sold 7 times more patterns this year compared to the two previous years (2017-2019). This year I sold almost 300 patterns! The sale increase is probably a consequence of my growing email list and my new marketing strategy. This graph is giving me so much hope for increasing my sales and growing my business even more!
The most sold patterns in the shop this year is the Car pattern, the Leopold and the CAL supporter tickets with a PDF pattern for the Mårten mouse. I sell most of my patterns in my own webshop and some in my Etsy shop. I also have my patterns on Ravelry but uses it mostly for marketing.
